Our Pride
Centurion Tank- A War Trophy
Bhonsala Military College is the proud possessor of Centurion Main Battle Tank, presented by Army Headquarters in recognition of our efforts to provide the cream of our youths to take up career in Defence Forces.
The tank was handed over to the college by the Commandant, School of Artillery, Deolali.
The
tank is of British origin designed as a heavy cruiser tank at the end
of World War II. Its combat weight is 51800 kg. And is fitted with 105
mm Rifled cannon and petrol driven Rolls Royce engines. It has seen
action during Indo-Pak war of 1965, Arab-Israel wars of 1967, 1973 and
1982. Finally it is resting in the campus of Bhonsala Military College.
